How to Transcribe Audio Files or Recordings With Dragon Naturally Speaking Software?

For professionals or students, whose life constantly revolves around working round the clock, and expressing their thoughts into meaningful expressions? Our Nuance Dragon Software is a boon for you. The transcribes option is something truly magical for Nuance users.

All you have to do is sit in a comfortable position and speak the sentences, and the words are displayed on the screen.

So basically, how does Dragon transcribe your audio or recordings?

Dragon Naturally Speaking Software converts the audio from sound files (files with extension .wav or WMA, MP3, DSS or DS2 format). Depending upon the size and number of the audio files, it may take time accordingly. To publish recordings from a portable recorder, you need to set up the software with a special additional source user profile specially trained to process the voice recorded on that recorder.

You do not need to select a special user to publish files in NaturallySpeaking Sound Recorder. Take the following steps to transcribe your audio files-

1.     From the NaturallySpeaking menu, select [Profile] → [Open User Profile] and select the special "User Profile" to open the user profile created specifically for recorder input. Set it for recorded voice and click the Open button.

2.     When using the portable recorder analog (Line-In) connection, the NaturallySpeaking recorder expects a certain volume. If you are copying text, make sure the sound is set to the same level used for training, or run the audio setup wizard again at this point.

3.     To launch the audio setup wizard, choose Audio → Read Text to improve precision and adjust volume only.

4.     Now select→ Transcription of Recordings. A transcribe screen will pop up on the window, select default setting.

5.     Now you have to select the recording screen too open the recorded audio files. Next, you will be directed to select a location where Dragon naturally Speaking Software can look for the audio file you are trying to record.

6.     Enter the file name or click the Find File button to select the desperate file from your hard drive.

7.     Click the Create Script button. The DragonPad opens and starts the process of transcribing.
